The Sky Blues are on the road this weekend as they travel to Cape Town to face Western Province in the Hollywoodbets Pro Series, with the Pro50 set for Saturday, 25 October, and the Pro20 taking place on Sunday, 26 October at Newlands.
Coming off a strong start to their season, the Titans claimed a 44-run victory over the North West Dragons in their opening Pro50 clash last weekend. Captain Gandhi Jafta anchored the innings with a brilliant 71 off 106 balls*, while Tiani van den Heuvel added a composed 55 off 61 deliveries. With the ball, debutant Luyanda Nzuza impressed on debut, claiming 4 wickets to seal the win for the Sky Blues.
As the Titans head to Cape Town, Head Coach Pierre de Bruyn has announced a traveling squad featuring a few key changes. Captain Gandhi Jafta and pace bowler Monalisa Legodi have both been ruled out due to injury, paving the way for Robyn Searle to take over the captaincy for the weekend. The squad also includes potential debutants Gabriella Sequeira and Angel Mgwenya, who will be eager to make their mark in Sky Blue.
Coach de Bruyn expressed confidence despite the setbacks, saying, “It was a tough training week where we unfortunately lost two players, including our captain, to injury. But I’m very confident in this squad, the energy and commitment they’ve shown ahead of the Cape Town trip has been outstanding.”
The Fidelity Titans will be looking to build on their momentum and continue their positive start to the 2025/26 season when they take on a strong Western Province campaign at Newlands.
