TITANS CRICKET AGM & SGM REFLECT A YEAR OF GROWTH AND RENEWAL

August 19, 2026.

Titans Cricket held its Annual General Meeting and Special General Meeting, bringing together the union’s clubs, affiliates and administrators to reflect on a year marked by sound governance and strong financial performance.

Chief among the highlights was the announcement that the union had realized a double-digit profit for the year, a result that speaks to the discipline and long-term thinking that has increasingly underpinned Titans Cricket’s operations.

The meetings also saw important changes to the union’s leadership structures. Kabelo Khaas was elected as a Board member, bringing fresh perspective and experience to the union’s governance at a pivotal point in its growth. Alongside him, Sarita Martin was appointed as an Independent Board member, strengthening the Board’s capacity for independent oversight and sound decision-making as Titans Cricket continues to professionalise its administration.

The gathering also paused to honour service beyond the boardroom. Nick Pretorius was bestowed with honorary membership in recognition of his long-standing contribution to umpiring within the union, a tribute to the often-unseen work that keeps the game running fairly and smoothly at every level.

In a resolution that will be felt directly at grassroots level, the AGM approved a special allocation of R100 000 to each affiliated club and R50 000 to each affiliate, a tangible reinvestment of the union’s financial performance back into the structures that sustain cricket across the province.

Speaking after the meetings, Titans Cricket CEO Dr Jacques Faul said: “This year’s results reflect the discipline and prudence with which our administration has operated, and it is pleasing to close the year with a healthy financial position. It feels especially fitting that we achieve this in the same year that SuperSport Park celebrates 40 years as a home of cricket, a milestone that reminds us why sound governance matters: it is what allows us to keep building for the next 40 years, not just the next one.”

Titans Cricket President Damian Wiedemann added: “Our AGM and SGM are more than a formality on the calendar; they are where we account to our clubs and affiliates for the year gone by, and where we set the tone for the year ahead. I want to welcome Kabelo and Sarita to the Board, and to thank Nick Pretorius for the dedication he has shown to umpiring over so many years. The allocation to our clubs and affiliates is a direct result of the union’s performance this year, and it is right that they share in it.”

Together, the resolutions taken at this year’s AGM and SGM reflect a union that is not only performing well financially but is deliberate about strengthening its governance, honouring its people, and reinvesting in the clubs and affiliates that form the foundation of cricket in the region.
