The 18-man South African Proteas Over-50s World Cup squad has been announced by the Veterans Cricket Association of South Africa.

The Over-50s World Cup taking place from 6 -20 March in Cape Town will include a total of 14 teams, and the South African team will be coached by Titans veteran coach Christo Weiss.

“it is a huge honour and privilege for all the players and management staff to be part of such a prestigious event and to represent our country” said Weiss.

Other members of the South African team include Morne Cilliers and Simion Muller from the Titans Veteran side.

The team which has a phenomenal cricket culture is working hard on preparation building up to the World Cup which is a few days away. The team spirit is high, and the players are looking forward to getting on the field.

Christo further explains that the game plan is to focus on one game at a time, get the right balance in the squad for each match and give 100% on the field.

The Titans Veterans Cricket Association would like to wish Titans Veterans players Morne Cilliers and Simion Muller all the best in the Proteas Veterans Over 50 team in the International Masters Council (IMC) Over 50 World Cup next week. We are also proud of Christo Weiss, Titans Veterans Head Coach for being appointed as the Protea Veterans Head Coach and will play an instrumental role in the Team’s preparation and success at the World Cup.
