For over two decades, the Titans have stood as a beacon of excellence in South African domestic cricket – a team synonymous with silverware, big-match spirit, and persistent ambition.
In the past 15 years alone, their dominance has been nothing short of remarkable, with deep runs in competitions and a consistent presence in the business end of tournaments becoming the norm rather than the exception.
The Titans have built a reputation as a powerhouse in domestic cricket. Their trophy cabinet includes multiple CSA 4-Day titles, Momentum One Day Cup victories, and T20 Challenge triumphs. The key to their success lies in a winning culture rooted in strong leadership, a robust talent pipeline, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Their joint victory in the 2024/25 CSA 4-Day Series saw Titans add another trophy to their name. Having featured in 10 finals for the CSA 4-Day Franchise Series in the last 15 years, Titans have emerged victorious 5 times: 2011/12, 2015/16, 2017/18, 2022/23, 2024/25 (shared).
The same has happened in the One Day Cup, winning 4 of the 6 finals they have been in: 2013/14 (shared), 2014/15, 2016/17, 2018/19. In the T20 Challenge Titans have won 5 of the 8 finals they have featured in: 2011/12, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2021/22.
This remarkable run has seen the Titans produce and attract some of South Africa’s finest cricketing talents. International stars like AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis, Dale Steyn, Quinton de Kock, Albie Morkel, Tabraiz Shamsi, Dean Elgar and David Wiese have donned the Titans jersey, raising the bar for performance and professionalism. Their presence has not only boosted the team’s on-field results but also mentored the next generation of stars coming through the ranks such as Donovan Ferreira, Corbin Bosch and Dayyaan Galiem.
Over the years we have seen Titans flourish on the national and global stage, playing in the IPL and SA20. During the 2025 IPL auction we saw 6 Titans (Klaasen, Ngidi, Williams, Markram, Ferreira, and Coetzee) auctioned and recently Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Dewald Brevis have joined Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings respectively.
Crucially, the Titans’ management has maintained a balance between experienced veterans and promising youngsters, ensuring long-term sustainability. Their strategic planning and emphasis on player development have made them a model franchise in South African cricket.
Winning 21 trophies in 20 years is no small feat, it reflects not just skill but also an elite mentality and culture of continuous improvement. As the Titans look ahead, their legacy serves as an inspiration and a benchmark for excellence in franchise cricket.
