The Momentum Multiply Titans travel to Gqeberha full of confidence as they prepare to take on the Dafabet Warriors in their second first-class fixture of the season, running from 17 to 20 September.

The trip to the Eastern Cape follows a commanding start to the campaign, and the squad will be looking to carry that momentum into a new venue against a familiar rival.

The Titans opened their four-day season in style, defeating the Hollywoodbets Dolphins by an innings and 59 runs in a performance that showcased both the depth and the quality within the squad. After winning the toss, the Dolphins elected to bat first, but the Titans’ bowling attack made light work of the decision, restricting the visitors to 157 all out. New-ball debutant Beyers Swanepoel announced himself in style with a six-wicket haul, while Marco Jansen was equally impressive, also finishing with seven wickets to his name and applying relentless pressure throughout the innings.

With the bat, the Titans left no room for argument. Donovan Ferreira produced a commanding 163 off 180 deliveries, anchoring the innings and setting the platform for a dominant total, while captain Simon Harmer’s composed 56 off 140 balls added further substance down the order. Between the bowling unit’s discipline and the batting line-up’s application, it was a complete team performance, and one that also introduced three new faces to Titans cricket, with Beyers Swanepoel, Tshepang Dithole and Lethabo Phahlamohlaka all making their first-class debuts in the fixture.

Simon Harmer will once again lead the side as they head to the Eastern Cape, with the squad seeing a few notable changes ahead of the clash. Dewald Brevis and Rivaldo Moonsamy return to join the group, adding further depth and experience to the touring squad, while Sinethemba Qeshile could be in line for a debut of his own in what would be another exciting introduction to the Titans’ growing pool of talent. Donovan Ferreira and Janco Smit also feature as the union looks to maintain its early-season form against a determined Warriors outfit on their home patch.
