TITANS SET FOR CLASH AT KINGSMEAD

The Momentum Multiply Titans have arrived in Durban for their 4 Day Domestic Series clash against the HollywoodBets Dolphins at Kingsmead on Sunday, 26 February.

The rain affected match which saw no play against the GBets Rocks at the Tuks Oval would’ve frustrated the Titans as they look to finish the strong in the 4 Day Series.

Despite the lack of game time in the last round the Titans sit in third place on the log and will need to dig deep in their remaining three games of the competition.

“It was a tough 4 days with the rained-out match at Tuks.” Said Titans Assistant Coach Geoffrey Toyana. “These are things that we can’t control but we have to move on, there’s a big fixture coming up against the Dolphins.”

The Sky Blues will be energised when they take to the field in Durban and are looking forward to the challenge of facing the Dolphins who are coming off the back off a win.

“We’re motivated by this match, we haven’t played much 4 day cricket this year but the boys are in a good space. We’ve had more time to train after last weeks rained out match and some of the boys had a nice run out against the West Indies in the invitational match.”

The Titans squad that’s travelled to Durban is injected with youth after a number of senior players were called up for national duty to represent the Proteas in the West Indies Test Series.

Dewald Brevis and Donovan Ferreira, who have made a name for themselves in white ball cricket, are amongst the travelling party and complete a list of five players that could make their first class debut for the Titans.

“We’re taking down quite a young side with a few exciting prospects. It’s a great opportunity for them to show what they can offer us in red ball cricket. Don [Ferreira] has played first class cricket before and got a hundred so it’s exciting for us and good test of our depth.” Explained Toyana.

The wicket at Kingsmead has been known to take spin and the conditions are different to what you would expect in the highveld which will be in the back of the coach’s mind when they select their team come Sunday morning.
