The Momentum Multiply Titans begin their CSA One Day Cup campaign on Friday, 2 December against The DP World Lions at SuperSport Park.
The Titans will go into the mouth-watering encounter spirited to get the W over their rivals from Johannesburg after the Lions earned a 3 wicket win over the Sky Blues in the final last season.
“It’s going to be a good challenge to play them upfront. We’ve got a score to settle against them from the final and I personally enjoy playing against the Lions.” Explained Titans captain Sibonelo Makhanya.
A competitive game of cricket can be expected in Centurion, as is always the case when the Titans and Lions face off. The exhibition on field will make for great viewing and entertainment for spectators at the stadium.
A fresh Titans squad has assembled for the One Day Cup after players including Donovan Ferreira, Aiden Markram and Okuhle Cele have returned to the team.
“We’ve got some exciting guys back in the fold for tomorrow and they bring lots of energy. We know what they can do and we looking forward to see them back in action.” Said Makhanya.
The Sky Blues will be looking to capitalize on their home advantage with their opening two matches taking place at SuperSport Park before they go on their travels.
“We love playing at home and what a way to kick off a tournament at SuperSport Park. Playing our opening game here will definitely play in our favour, we know we always get good crowds and we are excited to get going.”
