Titans Cricket is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Northern Transvaal cricketer, Etienne Oosthuysen, who passed away on 17 March 2026 at the age of 68.
A proud Northerns man, Oosthuysen was a talented opening batsman who represented Clapham High School, Northern Transvaal Schools, SA Schools, and the Northern Transvaal senior provincial team.
Beyond his achievements on the field, Etienne will be remembered for his love of the game and the camaraderie it brought. He valued the friendships, the shared moments in the changeroom, and the spirit of cricket that extended far beyond the boundary.
Former teammate Anton Ferreira remembers him as a gifted sportsman, excelling not only in cricket but also as a quality goalkeeper on the soccer field.
Off the field, Etienne was a devoted father, husband, and friend, known for his warm personality and great sense of humour. He had a unique ability to bring people together and leave a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Tamzyn and Stacey Oosthuysen, his wife, Elrie Oosthuysen, stepdaughter Marelie and grandchild Asher.
