A product of Rondebosch Boys’ High School in Cape Town, Galiem was a member of the Western Province Schools side for four years and made the SA Schools team on three of those occasions.
Little wonder then that he emerged into the senior ranks as a highly-regarded all-rounder, but the lack of opportunity with the Cape Cobras for such an obvious young talent has forced the man who turns 23 on January 2 to go to greener pastures with the Titans.
In three seasons with the Cobras, Galiem played just nine matches, despite being a hard-hitting batsman who also bowls pace, with the priceless quality of being able to swing the ball both ways.
Having played most of his cricket in the CSA provincial competitions, he averages over 40 with the bat and under 30 with the ball in first-class cricket, the sign of a genuine all-rounder
