Mr. Bertie Grobbelaar has years of experience in the sports industry, and he brings a wealth of attributes in the sports sector with experience in the legal and business sides of sport. Grobbelaar was admitted as an Attorney in the High Court of South Africa in February 1997 and obtained a Post Graduate qualification in Sports Law in 2003.

He was a partner and director of Van Velden Duffey Attorneys in Rustenburg specialising in commercial litigation, family law and sport law representing amateur and professional players, coaches, match officials, governing bodies, sport administrators, educational institutions and sports facility owners and operators. He has experience in the contentious area of sports doping, the World Anti-Doping Code which contains a unique mix of public and private regulations and appeared in matters before the Court for Arbitration in Sport. Grobbelaar was a director of the Leopards Rugby (Pty) Ltd gaining an in-depth understanding of commercial law, labour law, the law of delict and intellectual property law. He has successfully executed multiple high-profile concert and sporting events for Stadium Management South Africa.

As part of his current functions, Grobbelaar is responsible for managing stakeholders of the City of Johannesburg alongside Soccer and Stadium properties that serve as commercial entertainment.
