Advocate du Preez SC holds a BLC and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Pretoria and practises as an Advocate at the Pretoria Bar. Du Preez was appointed Senior Counsel in 2010.

With over 30 years’ experience in commercial litigation and administrative law, du Preez has lectured pupils on contractual claims and review applications and served as the Chairman of the Pretoria Bar’s Judicial Candidates’ Review Committee and as joint Chairman of the-then Procurement Committee.

Niël qualified as an accredited Mediator through the University of Cape Town’s Faculty of Law and recommends facilitative mediation as an expeditious and economical alternative (with favourable outcomes) to litigation.
