Advocate Dawie Joubert SC joined the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development in 1982 completing his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree through Unisa in 1988.

Having held positions in national service across the South African provinces, Joubert was recommended by the Johannesburg Society of Advocates for the conferment of Silk, with letter of patent was signed by the President of South Africa in December 2015. Joubert’s specific expertise lies in High Court litigation of Criminal Law, Law of Delict and Medical Negligence and he has appeared in the Constitutional Court of South Africa on two occasions, and in the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa (Bloemfontein) in over two dozen full bench appeal matters.

A qualified and accredited Mediator under the University of Cape Town’s Faculty of Law and duly obtained his Dispute Accreditation Council of South Africa Mediators (DISAC) qualification in June 2021 from the University of Cape Town.
