Cricketers are on the golf course whenever they get a chance! Indeed, some rack up more scores of 100 or more on the fairways than they do on the Cricket field.
It is a great platform for team camaraderie, banter and the annual Titans Golf Day is a keenly anticipated event on the social calendar.
Recently retired Henry Davids was even nicknamed as ‘The Golfer’, such was his passion- and precision – around the greens.
Given this great love for golf, Titans Cricket are thrilled to announce a new partnership with the leading ball and shoe brands in golf, Titleist and FootJoy.
“It’s fantastic to be in partnership with two global leaders in the golf industry,” Titans Cricket CEO Dr Jacques Faul said excitedly.
“There is huge passion in the team for golf, at whatever level people play. The beauty of the sport is that it allows so much time to engage with teammates, sponsors and fans. To have Titleist and FootJoy on our corporate team sheet is fantastic, and we look forward to chasing many more birdies in style,” Faul added.
For Titleist/FootJoy, the chance to align with the most successful franchise in South African cricket is also an opportunity that they relish.
“We are delighted to engage in a new partnership with the Momentum Multiply Titans as their official golf equipment partner,” Greg de Villiers from the brand explained.
“The Titans are one of South Africa’s most successful sporting brands, and they have a storied history of performance excellence in all facets. This is a core value that we at Titleist and FootJoy take very seriously, and we are excited to partner with The Titans to be able to reaffirm our connection with the dedicated golfer at all levels and abilities while demonstrating our product performance and quality.”
For the many enthusiastic golfers on the Titans roster, such as Aiden Markram, Quinny de Kock and coach Mandla Mashimbyi, the partnership allows for much more banter to fly around the dressing room.
“Guys love coming up with excuses about why they lost on the golf course. This partnership with the best ball and shoes in the game eliminates those excuses, and guys will have to rely on talent,” Mashimbyi quipped.
