Titans tee of for bragging rights at annual Golf Day

With a week away from the pressures of the Momentum One-Day Cup, the Multiply Titans are hosting their annual Golf Day today, at Zwartkop Golf Club.

It is always a highly anticipated event on the calendar, with the ever-competitive players looking to get one over each other in yet another discipline.

Veteran Henry Davids is an avid golfer himself, and he explained that the day out is far from relaxed, despite the mingling with corporate partners, sponsors and other members of the Titans family.

“I can promise you it won’t be relaxed, as it will be very competitive!,” the hard hitting right-hander pointed out.

Davids plays his golf much like he plays his cricket, with a penchant for massive tee shots, but a cheeky touch around the greens. With a reputation to maintain in the dressing-room, he is adamant that he must step up to the challenge.

“The guys want bragging rights on who played the best round on the day. I guess we’ll have to wait and see who takes that honour this year.”

The event will the players head off in different four-balls, with corporate partners in their four-balls. The event is a fantastic platform for networking, as it provides hours of one on one time with players for corporate guests.

“We will see each other before and after, as we will be split between the sponsors. But it’s always nice to do something as a group and as a brand to see how much you mean to the people that supports us. That
gives you enough motivation for any competition,” Davids added.

The squad is brimming with golf talent, though the likes of Chris Morris and Davids are renowned for always having handicaps that put them in with a fantastic chance to secure the individual honours.

Coach Mark Boucher is also an avid golfer, and will be looking to teach his young charges about the old adage that nothing beats experience.
