Titans Cricket is deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our esteemed Honorary Members, Gys Rautenbach, who was born on 15 December 1958 and passed away on 10 October 2025.

Gys served the game with great dedication and passion during his period at the then Northerns Cricket Union, now known as Titans Cricket Union. He joined the Union in the 2001/2002 season and continued to contribute meaningfully until completing his term in the 2011/2012 season.

Throughout his years of service, Gys was known for his unwavering commitment to cricket development in the region and his deep love for the game. His contributions played an important role in strengthening the foundation of the Union and supporting the growth of cricket across all levels.

Dr. Jacques Faul, CEO of Titans Cricket, expressed his condolences:

“We are truly saddened by the passing of Gys. He served the Union with honour and distinction, and his legacy of dedication and service will be remembered for years to come. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.”

The Sky Blues family extends heartfelt condolences to the Rautenbach family and loved ones during this difficult time.

A memorial will be held in his honour at SuperSport Park.
