TITANS BUILD ON THE PARTNERSHIP WITH SEYCHELLES

The Momentum Multiply Titans have partnered with Seychelles Cricket, continuing a relationship that started in 2017.

Thabang Kumalo, who currently coaches the Titans Colts, will be in charge of a development programme geared towards child participation.

The Seychelles Cricket Association (SCA) has seen phenomenal growth in the early age-groups, and are aiming to build on that momentum.

Kumalo is also expected to facilitate the growth of women’s cricket on the island, while the men’s team is looking to improve and get up the regional ICC ladder.

The men’s team will visit South Africa, to prepare for regional tournaments.

The SCA sees the Titans as a standard bearer for professionalism, and wants to emulate its values and philosophies within their own structures.

Khumalo, was recently in the West Indies with the South Africa u/19s, as assistant coach. That experience will stand him in good stead.

“We are very excited for Thabang, who has had a very busy few months,” Titans Cricket Services Manager Charlotte Serwadi said.

“His experience and love of the game are standout features, and we know that he will fly our flag proudly.”

SCA and the Titans will host an international T20 tournament at the Perseverance Cricket Grounds that will feature four teams and 64 players, 32 local and 32 international. The tournament will take place annually for three years, starting in September 2023.

The tournament will include Titans players spread across the four teams and is expected to boost sport tourism, and also develop the game even more.
