There is yet another T20 domestic league on the horizon, with the EuroT20 Slam set to launch on 30 August, across three countries.
The Multiply Titans have often supplied players to various leagues around the world, and this new competition is no different. Four current Titans players were recruited in last week’s player draft in London.
“It’s very good for our players to go out there and get these international experiences,” Titans CEO Dr Jacques Faul commented.
“We are very excited for all four of our Titans selected, and we know they will fly the Sky Blue flag proudly. They will also gain valuable experience, which will be beneficial to us when the 2019/20 season commences,” Faul added.
The headline act is fast bowler Dale Steyn, who has made excellent progress with the shoulder injury that cut short his World Cup tournament. Steyn has been secured as a Marquee Player for the Glasgow Giants.
He will be joined by Heinrich Klaasen in the Scottish city, after the versatile Sky Blue was also picked by a side that has Brendon McCullum as its Icon player.
Another player to have been drafted was Proteas spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, who will turn out for the Edinburgh Rocks. Shamsi will work with former KZN-Inland teammate Shane Burger, who will coach the second Scottish franchise in the tournament.
The fourth Titans star to be signed up for the Euro T20 Slam is speedster Corbin Bosch, who will play under World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan at the Dublin Chiefs.
Bosch impressed when he was drafted into the Mzansi Super League as a replacement, and worked alongside Morgan at the Tshwane Spartans. That stint has obviously stood him in good stead, and he will be out to impress yet again on a new stage.
The four Titans stars will join an impressive international cast list in the brave new tournament.
