MOMENTUM MULTIPLY TITANS SET SIGHTS ON TWO COASTAL CLASHES

The Momentum Multiply Titans are back in CSA One Day Cup action after their opener against the GBets Rocks on Saturday 23 September.

The Titans travels will see them take on the DafaBet Warriors at St George’s Park on Sunday before they take a trip to HollywoodBets Kingsmead to face the HollywoodBets Dolphins on Wednesday 11 October.

The Sky Blues will be eager to return to play following the waiting period form their first match to the second, however their matches will come in quick succession from Sunday, 8 October with the Sky Blues playing 6 games in 13 days.

“This is something that’s out of our control so we won’t dwell too much on it, what we’re looking forward to more is getting back onto the field.” Explained Head Coach Mandla Mashimbyi.

The break was convenient in that it provided the Titans an opportunity to sharpen their skills in preparation of their match against the Warriors with some members of the squad taking part in the opening weekend of the Club Cricket season.

“I’m happy with how we made use of the extended time between matches, training has been intentional and the boys attitudes and energies were second to none, I commend them for how they took on the added training time.” Mashimbyi said.

The objective going into these next two encounters will be to carry the momentum from the opener at SuperSport Park and replicate the assertive performance.

Key knocks from Dean Elgar (103) and Donovan Ferreira (63 off 40 balls) in the middle overs, set up a strong finish by Dayyaan Galiem (37 runs from 18 balls), Cobin Bosch (21 from 11) and Junior Dala (21 off 10) saw the Sky Blues close on 380-7 after 50 overs.

The strong showing with the bat was coupled with great work with the ball; Neil Brand led the attack and closed off the match with his 3-6 within 4 overs, supported by Aaron Phangiso (3-21) and Corbin Bosch (2-25).

Heading into their match in Gqeberha the Sky Blues will be hoping for no interruptions following the amount of rainfall around St George’s Park in recent days.
