The Momentum Multiply Titans return to red-ball cricket as they take on Western Province in the CSA 4-Day Series from 20-23 March at SuperSport Park.
Sitting second on the log, the Sky Blues are eager to maintain their strong position and push for top spot as the season nears its conclusion.
Having last played a 4-Day match in December, the Titans secured a dominant 10-wicket victory over the Warriors in Gqeberha. That match saw Lhuandré Pretorius make a sensational first-class debut, scoring an impressive 120 off 184 balls in the first innings. His knock was complemented by Sibonelo Makhanya’s solid 53 off 91 balls, helping the Titans post a competitive total of 342. The bowling attack was just as formidable, with Junior Dala producing a stunning five-wicket haul (5/27) and Merrick Brett contributing with figures of 4/27 to dismiss the Warriors for just 157.
Head coach Richard das Neves is confident that the team can build on their recent successes, especially after a strong One Day Cup campaign. “Playing at home is always a great advantage, and we’re looking forward to the challenge. The boys have performed well in recent months, and we want to carry that momentum into this 4-Day fixture,” said das Neves.
The squad for this fixture remains largely unchanged, with Joshua van Heerden making his return and Merrick Brett also included. Neil Brand will continue to lead the team as captain, ensuring stability and experience at the helm.
With home-ground advantage at SuperSport Park and a determined squad, the Titans will be looking to finish the season on a high.
The match against Western Province is set to start at 10:00 each day, and fans can look forward to another thrilling display of first-class cricket.
