The Momentum Multiply begin their 2023/2024 campaign at SuperSport Park against the Paarl Rocks in the CSA One Day Cup on Saturday.
After what feels like an extended off season the Sky Blues will be well prepared for their first task of the season on Saturday afternoon.
Head coach Mandla Mashimbyi trusts that his troops have had sufficient preparation during the off season and that they will ready and raring to kick off the new campaign.
“All the talking and the prep has been done and I think the boys are in a good space.” Mashimbyi explained.
“Too much talking could be a negative at this time of the season and it’s important that the boys start walking the walk.”
The additions of Matthew Kleinveldt, Tladi Bokako, Joshua van Heerden and the return of Rivaldo Moonsamy in the off season will bolster an already strong Titans squad. Further reinforcements came in the way of right-hand batter Jack Lees who spent the winter playing club cricket in England.
“I’m happy with the squad. I’m happy with the growth that I’ve seen in the winter and now it’s obviously to put it out there and make sure that we come out with the W.” Mashimbyi explained.
White ball captain Sibonelo Makhanya had this to say ahead of the match which starts at 13:00, “Definitely looking forward to it, it’s been a long couple of months of prepping and planning and tomorrow we get the opportunity to go out there and guys can make some of their dreams come true.”
“Hopefully we get a good start to the season; and we’re blessed to do it here at home at SuperSport Park tomorrow.” The skipper said.
SuperSport Park will be fully apt for hosting the match tomorrow after successfully presenting the 4th Betway ODI between South Africa and Austraila just 7 days ago.
