The Fidelity Titans Ladies are ready to hit the ground running in their first home matches of the Pro Series this weekend at SuperSport Park. They face Western Province in two exciting encounters – a Pro50 on Saturday, 19 October, and a Pro20 on Sunday, 20 October.
After a challenging start against Hollywoodbets Dolphins in Durban, the Titans are determined to bounce back stronger. Despite the losses, the Titans showcased promising individual performances. In the Pro20, debutant Alysia Rudolph made an impact with her first wicket, while Masabata Klaas and Eliz-Mari Marx claimed two wickets each. Robyn Searle impressed with 38 off 48 balls, Chanel Venter added 24 off 27, and Marx displayed her all-round prowess with a quick 26 from 16 deliveries.
The Titans pushed hard in the Pro50 but fell short by just two wickets. Robyn Searle was the standout performer, securing her first half-century of the season with 59 off 94 balls. Tebogo Macheke contributed a solid 35 off 32, and Kay-Leigh Tapp chipped in with 23 runs.
Head Coach Gordon Matheson is optimistic about the weekend:
“The team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes. We’re excited to play in front of our home crowd for the first time this season. Knowing the conditions here gives us an advantage, and we’re looking forward to putting on a strong performance against a competitive Western Province team.”
The Titans are eager to turn the tide this weekend, and with home-ground advantage, they’ll be aiming to secure their first win of the campaign. Be there to cheer them on and enjoy a thrilling weekend of cricket at SuperSport Park. Both matches begin at 10 AM, with free entry for fans to support the team on home turf.
