Top order star Henry Davids is still as keen as ever to start another season, and he is especially keen to head back to the Seychelles for a pre-season trip with the Multiply Titans, in association with Gran Kaz Entertainment.
“It was a fantastic trip last year, and the boys are really excited to be heading back. It was a real eye opener for many of us last year, and I’m sure it will be another exciting trip,” he said ahead of today’s departure with Air Seychelles.
The Titans will combine some extensive training, a tune-up match, coaching and some golf on the island, as they put the final touches to their 2019/20 prep.
“We played a friendly last time, and I think it was quite an experience for a few of the boys. We played on matting, and it was a reminder if how lucky we are to have such great facilities to play on at home,” he pointed out.
Davids said the squad’s mix of youth and experience were bracing themselves for some tough running in amongst the beauty of the island.
“We have done a lot of strength training in the winter, so it will be nice to get out and about. But we know that there will be some running in the hills, before we relax with a bit of golf.”
The Charity Golf Day is a new addition to the itinerary and with several players fancying themselves and Davids is banking on his touch around the greens to come to the fore.
“I’ve heard it’s quite a tight set-up, and we are playing on the Coconut Course, so it’s probably best to keep it nice and straight! We are just looking forward to spending some quality time together as a team,” he added.
