CENTRE FOR MEDIATION IN SPORT

Mr. Willem Coetzee studied at the North West University and completed his Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree in 1983 followed by two years’ military service. Upon completion of articles, he was admitted as an attorney in 1988 as well as admission as a conveyancer and notary public.
An avid multi-sportsman in his own right, Coetzee has been an attorney involved in the sporting fraternity for many years as a Board Member and legal advisor for the North West Academy for Sport. He has attended to contractual reports and advisory for the JB Marks Local Municipality, North West Parks and Tourism Board, the Mpumalanga Parks and Tourism Agency and the Mabana Cultural Centre.
Coetzee’s focus areas lay in commercial law (contracts, structuring and re-structuring, shareholder and directors’ disputes), sport law, local and provincial government, civil litigation and compliance.
